The Berici Hills trail with start and finish in Piazza dei Signori
The Ultrabericus Trail is the benchmark event for trail running in the Vicenza area. Founded in 2012, it has grown to attract around two thousand participants each year from all over Italy and abroad, drawn by a formula that combines nature running with the beauty of Vicenza's historic center, the city of Palladio and a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The unique feature of Ultrabericus is its start and finish point: Piazza dei Signori, under the Basilica Palladiana, right in the historic center. From here, runners immerse themselves in the Berici Hills, covering single tracks, mule tracks, and dirt roads that pass through the territories of Arcugnano, Perarolo, San Gottardo, Pederiva di Grancona, Pozzolo, Villaga, Barbarano, Mossano, Nanto, Villabalzana, and Torri di Arcugnano.
The event offers various races to suit every level: the Integral of 65 km with 2,500 meters of positive elevation gain, the Marathon of 45 km, the Twin (two-person relay), and the Urban of 21 km, the most accessible. A format that makes Ultrabericus a popular festival as well as a competition.
Organized by the Ultrabericus Team, the event is much more than a race: it's an opportunity to discover the province of Vicenza from the privileged perspective of its hills, amidst vineyards, woods, and Venetian villas. An event that combines the competitive dimension with the enhancement of the Berici landscape.
The fifteenth edition of the Ultrabericus Trail takes place on Saturday, March 14, 2026. The format with start and finish in Piazza dei Signori and four distances crossing the Berici Hills is confirmed. The long races — Integral, Twin, and Marathon — start at 10:00 AM, while the Urban and Nordic Walking start at 11:00 AM. The event is scheduled to conclude at 11:00 PM.
The Integral route is entirely traced on single tracks, mule tracks, and dirt roads, completing the loop of the Berici Hills, passing through Arcugnano, Perarolo, San Gottardo, Pederiva di Grancona, Pozzolo, Villaga, Barbarano, Mossano, Nanto, Villabalzana, and Torri di Arcugnano. Mandatory gear for long distances: 0.5-liter water bottle, windbreaker jacket, headlamp, whistle, survival thermal blanket, and personal cup.
Vicenza is easily reachable by train (FS station on the Milan-Venice line) and by car from the A4 motorway (Vicenza Ovest and Est exits). The start is in Piazza dei Signori, in the pedestrian historic center.
Registration is done online on the official website. Mandatory gear is required for the long races: water bottle, windbreaker jacket, headlamp, whistle, survival blanket, and personal cup.
