Vicenza in Lirica – Contesti is the festival that dedicates a month to opera and music in the most evocative settings of Vicenza and its territory. The artistic direction of Andrea Castello builds a path each year that dialogues between the great titles of melodrama and the symbolic places of Venetian architecture: Palladio's Teatro Olimpico, the Venetian villas, and the castles of the Vicenza area.
Great Titles and Young Talents
The festival pairs productions of masterpieces from the repertoire with an important mission to promote young performers: many productions are entrusted to the winners of the Tullio Serafin Lyrical Competition, making Vicenza in Lirica a showcase for the new generations of singers. Concerts, operas, and scattered events make up a rich and articulated program.
A Heritage on Stage
Organized in Vicenza, in the province of Vicenza, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the Veneto Region, and in collaboration with the Teatro La Fenice, the festival transforms the Venetian architectural heritage into a stage. From the villas of Montecchio Maggiore and Bagnolo di Lonigo to the Teatro Olimpico, each location tells a deep connection between music and place.

The fourteenth edition of Vicenza in Lirica – Contesti takes place from August 21 to September 20, 2026, with artistic direction by Andrea Castello. A month of opera and music between the Teatro Olimpico, the Venetian villas, and the castles of the Vicenza area, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the Veneto Region, and in collaboration with the Teatro La Fenice.

- September 6, 9:00 PM — Teatro Olimpico: official opening with Rossini's 'Petite Messe Solennelle' in its orchestral version
- September 10, 8:30 PM — Teatro Olimpico: open dress rehearsal of 'Il barbiere di Siviglia'
