The ancient world of Valbrevenna
U Mundantigu — "the ancient world" — is the festival that celebrates the traditions of rural life of the past in Valbrevenna (Metropolitan City of Genoa), in the Brevenna Valley. The event, set in the Molino Vecchio area (Baio area), is a journey into the peasant memory of the Genoese Apennines.
Crafts, animals and threshing
The day offers the rediscovery of ancient crafts, the farmers' market, farm animals and demonstrations of grain threshing, as well as parades of vintage carts. Educational activities and re-enactment moments involve visitors of all ages, telling the gestures and knowledge of a world now disappeared.
Typical cuisine and Authentic Event
At the table, there is space for typical dishes, with the traditional minestrone among the protagonists, and in the evening there is dancing. Organized by the Municipality and the Pro Loco of Valbrevenna, U Mundantigu is recognized among the Authentic Ligurian Events: a day of identity and tradition in the green of the Antola Park.

For 2026, U Mundantigu is scheduled for Sunday, September 6 in the Molino Vecchio area of Valbrevenna. The festival commemorates rural life of the past with demonstrations of ancient crafts, a farmers' market, farm animals, and grain threshing.
At lunch and dinner, typical dishes are served, including the traditional minestrone, and in the evening, there is dancing. The event is recognized as an Authentic Ligurian Event 2026, organized by the Municipality and the Pro Loco of Valbrevenna.
