About U Mundantigu

U Mundantigu is the festival that in Valbrevenna brings to life the peasant world of yesteryear. Between demonstrations of ancient crafts, farmers' market, farm animals and grain threshing, the event tells the story of rural life in the Genoese Apennines with a dive into the past. There is no shortage of typical cuisine, with the traditional minestrone, followed in the evening by dancing. Recognized as an Authentic Ligurian Event, it is a day of memory and identity in the heart of the Brevenna Valley and the Antola Park.

The ancient world of Valbrevenna

U Mundantigu — "the ancient world" — is the festival that celebrates the traditions of rural life of the past in Valbrevenna (Metropolitan City of Genoa), in the Brevenna Valley. The event, set in the Molino Vecchio area (Baio area), is a journey into the peasant memory of the Genoese Apennines.

Crafts, animals and threshing

The day offers the rediscovery of ancient crafts, the farmers' market, farm animals and demonstrations of grain threshing, as well as parades of vintage carts. Educational activities and re-enactment moments involve visitors of all ages, telling the gestures and knowledge of a world now disappeared.

Typical cuisine and Authentic Event

At the table, there is space for typical dishes, with the traditional minestrone among the protagonists, and in the evening there is dancing. Organized by the Municipality and the Pro Loco of Valbrevenna, U Mundantigu is recognized among the Authentic Ligurian Events: a day of identity and tradition in the green of the Antola Park.
