The reuse and vintage market under the stars, every summer Thursday in Piazza Trento
Every Thursday evening, from June to August, the central Piazza Trento in Travo transforms into a large open-air market. Travo Vintage - Empty the Attic is the summer event dedicated to second-hand goods, reuse, and vintage: private individuals and enthusiasts display second-hand items, antiques, books, records, clothing, ceramics, and curiosities of all kinds on their stalls. It's the perfect opportunity to give new life to what is no longer used and, at the same time, to find small treasures at affordable prices.
The market takes place in the heart of the village of Travo, a municipality in the Province of Piacenza overlooking the picturesque Trebbia Valley, in Emilia-Romagna. It is held every Thursday evening during the summer season, when the milder temperatures and the village atmosphere make a stroll among the stalls pleasant, hence the nickname "market under the stars".
The initiative is promoted by the Municipality of Travo in collaboration with the Enoteca Simo's Palate, and is part of the village's rich summer calendar, which also offers musical evenings, literary meetings, and a market for local producers and artisans during the summer. The "empty the attic" formula is simple and participatory: anyone can book a space to display their items, while visitors stroll freely and for free among the stalls.
Travo is one of the most characteristic villages in the Trebbia Valley, immersed in a landscape of hills and meanders of the Trebbia river. Combining a visit to the market with a walk through the historic center, along the river, or to the archaeological area of Travo makes the evening a pleasant reason to discover this corner of the Piacenza Apennines. The reuse market is also a concrete way to experience the village sustainably, focusing on recovery and giving objects a second life.
For summer 2026, Travo Vintage - Empty the Attic returns to Piazza Trento with twelve evenings, one for each Thursday from June 11 to August 27. The scheduled dates are: June 11, 18, and 25; July 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30; August 6, 13, 20, and 27. Each event features the usual reuse and vintage market, with stalls from private individuals and enthusiasts displaying used items, antiques, and curiosities. Admission for visitors is free. The official calendar is published by the organizers on the website travoeleduepietre.com.
The format for the 2026 edition remains the established reuse and vintage market: every Thursday evening, exhibitors' stalls fill Piazza Trento with used items, vintage pieces, antiques, and curiosities. The confirmed dates are Thursdays from June 11 to August 27. No structured artistic program is planned: the event is a participatory market with free admission. Any collateral evening entertainment will be communicated by the organizers from time to time.
