Feltre turns pink: the Pink Night and the start of the Dolomite stage
The passage of the Tour of Italy is always an extraordinary event for the cities hosting starts and finishes. In 2026, it's Feltre's turn, in the province of Belluno, which will be the starting point for Stage 19, one of the most feared Dolomite stages of the entire Giro d'Italia: 151 kilometers from Feltre to Alleghe (Piani di Pezzè), with approximately 5,000 meters of elevation gain and a sequence of legendary climbs including the Passo Giau, the Cima Coppi of the edition.
On the eve of the start, the city experiences its grand celebration: the Pink Night. From the afternoon, the historic center transforms into a widespread festival, with shows, music, entertainment, aperitifs in bars, and shops open for evening shopping. In the evening, Piazza Maggiore becomes the pulsating heart of the event, featuring the Palio di Feltre parade, performances, the official stage presentation, and a DJ set with food and wine stalls.
The Tour's passage is an opportunity for Feltre to showcase itself to the world, highlighting its UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites and its cycling tradition. The event is part of the regional program linked to the race and involves the entire Feltre community with a week of initiatives, meetings with champions, and events spread throughout the territory.
The two-day pink event in Feltre transformed the city into a grand popular festival. On the evening of May 28th, the Pink Night filled the historic center with music, shows, and food and wine stalls, with the Palio di Feltre parade, a performance by the ENAIP Veneto Training Center, the stage presentation, and the Radio Company Party in Piazza Maggiore. Guest of honor was Peter Sagan, three-time road world champion. On May 29th, the very tough Stage 19, 151 km and 5,000 m of elevation gain, started from Largo Panfilo Castaldi, heading to the Piani di Pezzè di Alleghe.
Feltre (BL) is served by the train station on the Padova–Belluno line. By car, it can be reached from the SS50. On event days, the city center will have traffic closures: it is advisable to use the train or park in external lots.
Pink Night on May 28th from the afternoon; stage start on May 29th from the morning.
