The Vertikal del Gevero is the most intense and spectacular event of the running weekend in Cison di Valmarino, in the province of Treviso. It is a night vertical race: athletes tackle a short but steep climb in the Treviso Prealps, running in the dark with only the light of their headlamps. An adrenaline-fueled format that rewards explosiveness, endurance, and the ability to manage uphill fatigue.
A weekend of two races
The Vertikal takes place on Saturday and is combined with the Trail del Gevero, the trail running race held the following Sunday. Athletes can register for the combined Trail + Vertikal package, tackling both the night vertical challenge and the long trail routes over two days. It's a formula that has won over runners in the Veneto region, attracted by the opportunity to experience an entire weekend of mountain running.
Through the Gevero trails
The race unfolds on the slopes surrounding Cison di Valmarino, one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy, amidst the woods and ridges of the Treviso Prealps. The night atmosphere, with the line of headlamps ascending the mountain, creates a captivating spectacle for both athletes and spectators.
A young but already beloved event
Originally created as a complement to the Trail del Gevero, the Vertikal has quickly carved out its own niche in the autumn running calendar in Veneto. Organized by ASD Trail del Gevero, it contributes to promoting the hilly and mountainous territory of the Cison di Valmarino area even during the colder season.
Vertikal del Gevero — edition 2026
The 4th edition of the Vertikal del Gevero is scheduled for Saturday, November 14, 2026, in Cison di Valmarino. The night vertical race will challenge athletes on a steep climb in the Treviso Prealps, to be tackled in the dark with a headlamp.
The race can be combined with the Trail del Gevero, scheduled for the following day, Sunday, November 8, 2026 (part of the running weekend). Registration opens on August 1, 2026; a discount on the combined Trail + Vertikal package is available only in August.

Getting there
The race takes place in Cison di Valmarino (TV), in the Treviso Prealps. By car from the A27 motorway (Vittorio Veneto Nord or Sud exit), then follow SP4 and SP635. The nearest train station is Vittorio Veneto. As it is a night race, a headlamp is mandatory.
Registration
Registration for the 4th edition in 2026 opens on August 1, 2026. A discount on the combined Trail + Vertikal package is available only during August. Regulations and fees can be found on the official website traildelgevero.it.
