Those Fabulous 70s & 80s

A Night of Music, Dancing, and Solidarity

"Those Fabulous 70s & 80s" is the great dancing and charity evening that enlivens Sasso Marconi every spring, in the heart of the Bolognese Apennines, in Emilia-Romagna. Founded in 2015, the festival has become an unmissable event for thousands of people who gather under the large tent of the Palatenda in Cà de Testi to relive the atmospheres, hits, and fashions of the legendary seventies and eighties. In recent editions, up to 3,500 tickets have been sold per evening, a sign of growing success year after year.

A Festival Born from Volunteering

The event is organized by the Pubblica Assistenza of Sasso Marconi together with the Pro Loco and numerous local volunteer associations. The spirit is to combine fun with solidarity: in ten years, the event has distributed over 158,000 euros to local organizations, and the entire proceeds of each edition are donated to charity to the Pubblica Assistenza of Sasso Marconi itself and to AGEOP Ricerca, an association committed to supporting children with cancer and leukemia.

Music, Comedy, and Drag Queen Show

The program is a succession of live entertainment, starting from the early afternoon/evening with the opening of the food stands. It continues with comedy, a dance show by local schools, the highly anticipated drag queen show, and then plenty of pop and dance music, from the hits of private radio stations in the seventies to the chart-toppers of the 2000s, with DJs and vocalists keeping the audience dancing until late at night.

Flavors of Bolognese Tradition

Under the Palatenda, there is no shortage of excellent Emilian cuisine: the stands offer gramigna with sausage, arrosticini, tigelle, piadine, and crescentine, accompanied by a bar service managed by volunteers. It's an opportunity to taste the typical dishes of the Bolognese Apennines in a popular and genuine festive atmosphere.

An Event for the Entire Community

"Those Fabulous 70s & 80s" is much more than a dancing night: it's a moment of gathering for the entire community of Sasso Marconi and neighboring towns, where multiple generations come together to dance, laugh, and support important causes. A mix of nostalgia, music, and heart that makes this festival one of the most beloved in the province of Bologna.
