When spring enters the city

Thiene between Flowers and Flavours is the festival that every early May transforms the historic centre of Thiene, in the province of Vicenza, into a large spring garden. A market exhibition of plants and flowers winds through the streets and squares of the centre — Piazza Ferrarin, Piazzetta G. Rossi, Piazza Chilesotti, Via Roma and Via Trento — accompanied by scents, colours and many initiatives.

The Scarecrow Festival

The creative heart of the event is the Scarecrow Festival, an initiative open to everyone that invites every "artist" to exhibit works made with traditional or recycled materials, to give a touch of beauty and tradition to the historic centre. A competition of imagination that colours shop windows and corners of the city.

Flavours, workshops and entertainment

Alongside the flowers, the festival offers zero-km gastronomy, creative workshops, decorated shop windows and moments of entertainment with songs and dances in the squares. Vintage cars, folk groups, DJ sets and floral-themed walks mark the days, making the event suitable for families, gardening enthusiasts and the curious.

A festival of community and solidarity

The event is organized by the Associazione Amici di Thiene (Friends of Thiene Association) together with the Municipality, Confcommercio Thiene and the IAT office of Pedemontana Veneta e Colli. With thousands of visitors expected each edition, it is one of the most beloved events of the Vicenza spring, also thanks to the charity collection in favour of the "Città della Speranza" Foundation.
