About The Days of Honey

In early October, the Lazise lakefront hosts The Days of Honey, the National Beekeeping Fair: the largest showcase of Italian honeys at a European level. Beekeepers from all over Italy exhibit their products along Lungolago Marconi and in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, with tastings, national competitions, conferences, educational apiaries, and sensory analysis courses. A free event that combines honey culture, environment, and Garda tradition.

The Honey Capital on Lake Garda

The Days of Honey is the National Beekeeping Fair that every year, in early October, transforms the village of Lazise, in the province of Verona, into the Italian capital of honey. Considered the largest showcase of Italian honeys at a European level, the fair attracts beekeepers, producers, and enthusiasts from all over the peninsula.

Beekeepers on the Lakefront

The beekeepers' stands are set up along Lungolago Marconi and in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, offering the public the chance to taste and buy the many varieties of Italian honey. Admission to the event is free.

Competitions, Conferences, and Educational Apiaries

The program goes far beyond sales: the fair hosts major national competitions dedicated to honey, such as "L'Ape d'Oro" (The Golden Bee) and "L'Ape della Serenissima" (The Bee of the Most Serene Republic), as well as the "Municipalities Friendly to Bees" award. There is also space for education with the educational apiary, the apiary of well-being curated by the Italian Apitherapy Association, photographic exhibitions, conferences on the beekeeping and veterinary sector at the Dogana Veneta, and introductory courses on honey sensory analysis.

A Historic Event

Now in its latest editions, over forty years after its inception, the fair is a national reference point for the beekeeping world, capable of combining the promotion of honey with awareness-raising on environmental issues and the protection of bees. All this in the evocative setting of Lake Garda.
