Spring wellness weeks featuring herbs, nature, and Kneipp therapy in Tisens-Prissian
TESANA – Time for Yourself is the spring wellness festival that brings the municipality of Tisens and the village of Prissian to life in the heart of the Merano region, in South Tyrol. The name combines the concept of "AusZEIT" (time for yourself) with a diverse program of nature and health-focused activities that, every year from late March to mid-June, turn this lush green village into a sanctuary for rejuvenation.
The event's motto is simple: clear your mind, do something good for yourself, and restore balance to your body, mind, and spirit. Dozens of sessions led by local experts revolve around this idea, designed to help you rediscover the value of what nature offers and learn how to incorporate it into your daily life.
During the festival, a network of participating farms and restaurants offers TESANA products—including wild garlic bread and cheese, herbal tea, and the TESANA drink—alongside seasonal menus based on spring herbs, known as "green delights." Participating venues include Restaurant Natz, Gfrillerhof, Prissianerhof, Restaurant Zur Brücke, Café Restaurant Camping Tisens, Hotel Mohren, and Restaurant Tirolensis.
Among the most anticipated moments are the evocative Magische Walpurgisnacht auf St. Hippolyt, the witches' night celebrated at an ancient power site with fire, incense, and music, and the FrühlingsSchmaus & Pflanzentausch in the town square of Tisens, featuring tastings, local product sales, and a plant swap.
Nestled among apple orchards, chestnut groves, and scenic trails at the foot of Mount Luco (Laugen), Tisens-Prissian is an ideal destination for those seeking the South Tyrolean spring away from the crowds. TESANA enhances this natural vocation by blending farming traditions, herbal culture, and slow tourism, organized by the Tourismusverein Tisens-Prissian.
The 2026 edition of TESANA – Time for Yourself runs from March 28 to June 13 in Tisens and Prissian, South Tyrol. Herb hikes take place every Tuesday from March 31 to June 9, accompanied by bird-song walks, land art workshops, scenic breakfasts at Großkemathof, yoga, forest bathing, and Kneipp paths.
Key highlights include the Magische Walpurgisnacht auf St. Hippolyt (April 30) and the FrühlingsSchmaus & Pflanzentausch on May 1st in the Tisens town square, featuring tastings and plant swaps. The festival is organized by the Tourismusverein Tisens-Prissian.
By car: from Bolzano or Merano towards Val di Non, take the exit for Tisens and Prissian. By train to Merano or Lana-Postal, then take the local bus to Tisens.
Many activities require booking through the tourist office. Tourismusverein Tisens-Prissian, Gerbergasse 1B, 39010 Tisens — tel. +39 0473 920822, [email protected]. Full program at www.tisensprissian.com/tesana.
