The natural, organic, and biodynamic wine fair in Scicli
TERUAR — Ethical Wine Fair is the first natural wine fair in Scicli, a stunning Baroque town in the province of Ragusa, Sicily. The event is organized by the Arsura - Sete Etica Cultural Association and takes place in the evocative setting of Villa Penna, on the Terrazza 04 overlooking the Iblean countryside. More than just a fair, TERUAR is a manifesto: it was born to highlight the figure of the winemaker and the concept of ethical viticulture, respectful of both the land and the people.
The heart of the event is the tasting area, where dozens of Italian and international wineries present their wines for tasting. These are producers who have chosen the path of natural, organic, and biodynamic wine: vineyard practices without synthetic chemicals, indigenous yeasts, and minimal intervention in the cellar. Alongside the numerous Sicilian winemakers—who make up the largest contingent—participants come from many Italian regions, from Piedmont to Puglia, from Friuli to Abruzzo, as well as international delegations from France, Slovenia, and Albania.
TERUAR is an experience of community and conviviality. Between one glass and another, you can meet the producers, listen to the stories of their lands, and discover the deep bond between wine, landscape, and ethics. The event also dedicates space to families, with a children's area and workshops curated by local associations, because the culture of good drinking goes hand in hand with that of hospitality.
Set in one of the most fascinating villages of the Val di Noto, a UNESCO World Heritage site, TERUAR combines oenological discovery with the charm of south-eastern Sicily. Visiting the fair also means immersing yourself in the atmosphere of Baroque Scicli and the flavors of the Iblean land, in a weekend that celebrates wine as an authentic expression of a territory.
The 2026 edition of TERUAR confirmed the event as one of the most anticipated appointments for natural wine in south-eastern Sicily. Over the two days of Sunday, May 17, and Monday, May 18, Villa Penna hosted over 70 producers with their wines available for tasting.
On Sunday, the tasting tables were open from the early afternoon until evening, with early access reserved for industry professionals; on Monday, the fair continued until the late afternoon. There was also an area dedicated to children, with workshops managed by local associations. A wide showcase of ethical wine, from Sicily to mainland Italy and abroad.
Sunday, May 17: opening of tasting tables from early afternoon, last entry in the evening; early access for accredited professionals. Monday, May 18: tastings from early afternoon until closing. Children's area with dedicated workshops in the afternoon.
Scicli is located in south-eastern Sicily, in the province of Ragusa. By car, it can be reached via the SS115; the nearest airports are Comiso (approx. 40 km) and Catania Fontanarossa (approx. 100 km). The Scicli train station is connected to the Syracuse-Gela line.
Entry with a tasting glass is ticketed: approximately €20 for online pre-sale and €25 at the door. Early access is reserved for industry professionals with accreditation.
Minors are allowed to enter, but alcohol will not be served to them; dedicated workshops are provided for children. Online pre-sale is recommended to avoid queues.
