The flavors and crafts of yesteryear
The Flavors and Traditions Festival is the event that brings the Venetian peasant civilization back to life in Terrassa Padovana, a municipality in the Bassa Padovana area of the province of Padua. The event is promoted by the historical re-enactment group Origini Contadine, founded in 2006 precisely for this festival, and takes place every year in September at Parco Gasparotto, behind the town hall.
A table with tradition
The food stand offers dishes from traditional Venetian peasant cuisine: gnocchi, bigoli, trippa alla veneta, horse meat stew, baccalà alla vicentina, polenta with herring, beans in sauce, and many other local specialties, accompanied by convivial evenings.
The re-enactment and Sunday market
The heart of the festival is the historical re-enactment: about twenty costumed participants of all ages bring to life the crafts of the early twentieth century, recreating the environments of Venetian rural homes with antique furniture and tools. On Sundays, a large market is held with local products and crafts, along with horses, vintage tractors, and plowing demonstrations. In 2026, the Origini Contadine group celebrates twenty years of activity.

The 20th edition of the Flavors and Traditions Festival is expected in September 2026 at Parco Gasparotto in Terrassa Padovana, a special edition coinciding with the twentieth anniversary of the Origini Contadine group (founded in 2006).
