The festival of comics, manga, and pop culture in Terni
Terni Comics is the festival dedicated to comics, manga, animation, and pop culture held in the historic center of Terni, in Umbria. The event transforms the BCT – Biblioteca Comunale di Terni and the PalaSì in Piazza della Repubblica into a large meeting space for readers, collectors, cosplayers, and the curious.
The program revolves around the Artist Alley, set up in the library's spaces, where illustrators and comic artists from all over Italy work live and meet the public for sketches, autographs, and discussions. You'll also find:
Terni Comics has two main events. The autumn edition (in September) is the main and largest one. In spring, there's the "Terni Comics in Love" (or Love Edition), a more intimate edition with a strong thematic focus: as part of the municipal project Luci di Donna, it dedicates space to female creativity and the fight against gender-based violence. The organizers aim to feature local artists and prominent national figures, maintaining free admission and an inclusive approach for the entire city.
Free and open to all, Terni Comics has become a reference point for the nerd and geek community in the Province of Terni and all of Umbria, successfully blending entertainment, culture, and social issues.
The Love Edition 2026 of Terni Comics, titled "Terni Comics in Love", was held on March 7th and 8th, 2026, at the BCT – Terni Municipal Library, the PalaSì, and Piazza della Repubblica. As part of the municipal project Luci di Donna, the edition focused on female creativity and the fight against gender-based violence.
The poster was created by a young Terni artist and depicts female figures emerging from the waters of the Marmore Falls, a symbol of strength and resilience. The Artist Alley was set up in the library, featuring illustrators and comic artists from across Italy working live; there was also space for tournaments (including Beyblade), contests, and cosplay photo shoots. Among the most popular events was the meeting with writer Alessandra D'Egidio and her novel "Due meno Due", winner of the Marie Curie Prize. The organization, managed by Andrea Ciaramellari, confirmed during the planning phase a fourth autumn edition for September 2026.
