It Happens in Spring in Spoleto is the programme with which the Municipality of Spoleto (province of Perugia) accompanies the city from spring to the beginning of summer. A multidisciplinary programme that, in collaboration with local associations and cultural institutions, offers dozens of diverse events.
A Calendar for All Tastes
The programme ranges from exhibitions and book presentations to theatre and dance performances, from street artists to sporting events, and trekking and cycling tours in the city and its surroundings. Among the recurring events: Maggio dei Libri (May of Books), Spoleto Vintage, the International Dance Competition at the Teatro Nuovo, the Spoleto Buskers Festival, and the historic Corsa dei Vaporetti (Little Steam Car Race).
Towards the Festival dei Due Mondi
Accade in Primavera anticipates Spoleto's great cultural summer, the one that culminates in the renowned Festival dei Due Mondi. It's a way to experience the city in a more intimate season, with many events held in squares, theatres, historic buildings, and along the trails, often with free admission.

It Happens in Spring in Spoleto 2026
The 2026 edition animated Spoleto from late April until June 21, blending culture, sport, and socialising. The programme, organised by the Municipality with cultural associations and institutions, featured theatre, exhibitions, books, dance, street artists, sports, and outdoor activities.
Among the highlights: the show "Ofelia" at Palazzo Mauri, Spoleto Vintage, the Bici in Comune cycling tours on the Spoleto-Assisi route, the International Dance Competition (35th edition) at the Teatro Nuovo, the Spoleto Buskers Festival, encounters with the finalists of the Premio Strega at the Teatro Caio Melisso, Spoleto Fantasy Play, the Corsa dei Vaporetti, and, to close, the Solstice of Art and the Festival of Music on June 21.

How to Get There
Spoleto is on the Rome-Ancona railway line; from the station, the historic centre is reachable via the mechanised pathways. By car: take the Spoleto exit from the SS3 Flaminia.
