Teatro Vida, the cultural heart of Gravina

Inaugurated in 2009 by actor and director Sergio Rubini, the Teatro Vida on Via Giardini has quickly become a landmark for the cultural life of Gravina in Puglia, in the heart of the Bari Murgia. More than just a theater, the Vida is a vibrant space where performance, training, and social life intertwine: next to the stage is an area entirely dedicated to workshops, attended every year by hundreds of young people and adults.

A season of farce, tragedy, and music

The Vida's theatrical season runs from October to April with a diverse program, ranging from farce to social theater, and from comedy to Greek tragedy, not to mention musical reviews and original in-house productions. It is a program designed for a wide audience, alternating lighthearted titles with moments of reflection, with a constant focus on social issues and contemporary themes.

The "Colpi di Scena" resident company

An integral part of the project is the "Colpi di Scena" resident company, composed of young actors and actresses trained within the Vida program. Under the guidance of artistic director Debora Schinco, the company stages its own productions that often address social issues, from the world of work to new forms of communication, combining civic engagement with the freshness of an emerging group.

A theater that shapes new generations

The Vida is not just a place for performance, but a true educational hub. Its theater workshops reach the city's elementary and middle schools, involving children and teenagers in growth paths that combine play, expression, and citizenship. Every spring, a week dedicated to the youngest transforms the theater into a space for participation and discovery.

Gravina towards the 2028 Capital of Culture

The activities of Teatro Vida are part of Gravina in Puglia's journey towards its candidacy for the Italian Capital of Culture 2028. In a city famous for its bridge-aqueduct, caves, and Cathedral, the Vida represents a key piece of a community that continues to invest in culture as an engine for identity and the future, both in the province of Bari and throughout the Puglia region.
