The Teatro Traetta Theatrical Season is the most anticipated cultural event of the year in Bitonto, in the province of Bari, Puglia. Every year, from November to March, the 18th-century Tommaso Traetta Municipal Theatre — named after the Bitonto-born composer Tommaso Traetta, a key figure in 18th-century European music — lights up its stage with a nationally acclaimed program, promoted by the Municipality of Bitonto in collaboration with Puglia Culture.

2025/2026 Season of the Teatro Traetta
The 2025/2026 season of the Tommaso Traetta Municipal Theatre in Bitonto (Bari) opened on November 18 and 19, 2025, and concluded on March 31, 2026. The program, one of the most extensive in Puglia, brought together 18 drama performances, 7 contemporary dance events from the L'Arte dello Spettatore series, 5 morning social theatre performances for Anna Rosa Tarantino, 8 youth shows for La Scena dei Ragazzi, and 4 titles dedicated to cultural welfare, for a total of 42 events.
Some of the most appreciated interpreters of Italian theatre took the stage, in a journey that spanned the great classics — from Goldoni to Pirandello, from Plautus to Svevo — culminating in the musical finale with Verdi's Falstaff.

Getting there
Bitonto is approximately 18 km from Bari and is connected to the regional capital via the Ferrovie del Nord Barese railway and the road network (SS 98 and the Bari ring road). By car, exit the Bari ring road towards Bitonto. The train station is a short distance from the historic center.
