Great live music at the Teatro Comunale in Barletta, featuring classical, jazz, and singer-songwriter performances
The Teatro Curci Musical Season is one of the most deeply rooted cultural events in Barletta, a city in the Barletta-Andria-Trani province of Puglia. Organized by the Cultura e Musica G. Curci โ ETS association under the artistic direction of Maestro Francesco Monopoli, the series brings the Teatro Comunale Giuseppe Curciโa 19th-century jewel overlooking Corso Vittorio Emanueleโto life every winter and spring.
The hallmark of the season is its ability to create a dialogue between different genres: grand classical and symphonic music coexists with jazz, symphonic rock, Italian pop, and singer-songwriter classics. The Curci stage hosts international orchestras, famous soloists, and popular artists, in a journey designed for a broad, curious, and passionate audience.
The highlight of every season is the final concert linked to the Mauro Paolo Monopoli International Piano Competition, a historic Barletta contest that brings young finalists to the Curci stage, accompanied by a symphony orchestra. It is a unique opportunity to hear major piano concertos performed by emerging talents of the international piano scene.
Inaugurated in the 19th century and dedicated to the Barletta-born composer Giuseppe Curci, the theater is now the city's main cultural hub. Its acoustics and the intimate atmosphere of the hall make it the ideal venue for live music, just a short walk from the Swabian Castle and the Cathedral of Barletta.
The Musical Season represents much more than a series of concerts: it is a cultural landmark that has kept the passion for music alive in the BAT territory for over forty years.
The 42nd Teatro Curci Musical Season in Barletta, curated by Cultura e Musica G. Curci โ ETS under the artistic direction of Maestro Francesco Monopoli, presented eleven concerts between December 29, 2025, and May 10, 2026. A diverse program that spanned symphonic rock, jazz, folk traditions, singer-songwriter music, and the great classical repertoire, concluding with the final of the Mauro Paolo Monopoli Prize.
