The theatre festival at the Teatro Fra' Dolcino in Campertogno
Teatrando is the theatre festival that brings the winter and spring seasons to life in Campertogno, a charming Alpine village in the Valsesia valley, in the province of Vercelli, in northern Piedmont. Performances are held at the "Fra' Dolcino" Multifunctional Centre Theatre, a venue that, for fifteen editions, has become the valley's cultural meeting point from January to April.
The artistic direction is entrusted to Daniele Conserva, an actor and storyteller who has been curating the Teatrando programme for years with a keen eye for quality and variety. The schedule alternates between drama, monologues, theatrical readings, storytelling, and musical interludes, providing a stage for companies and performers from the Valsesia area as well as guests from other parts of Piedmont and Lombardy.
The festival offers more than just entertainment: every event is designed as a gathering for the residents of Campertogno and neighbouring towns, in an intimate theatre where the connection between stage and audience remains direct and warm. Admission is free, a choice that confirms Teatrando's commitment to being a cultural service open to the entire mountain community.
Nestled along the Sesia river at the foot of Monte Rosa, Campertogno is one of the most characteristic villages in the Valsesia, a land of Alpine and Walser traditions. Attending a Teatrando performance is also a way to discover this corner of Piedmont off the beaten track, where live culture remains a vibrant presence even during the coldest months.
The fifteenth edition of Teatrando consisted of five events in Campertogno, from January to April 2026, at the "Fra' Dolcino" Multifunctional Centre Theatre, with free admission and artistic direction by Daniele Conserva. The festival alternated between drama, storytelling, and theatrical readings accompanied by live music, confirming its status as one of the most anticipated cultural events in the Valsesia valley.
