The folk music festival in Veroli, blending tarantella with the biggest names in the Italian scene
Tarantelliri Festival is the late-summer highlight that, for over fifteen years, has transformed Veroli—a historic art town in the province of Frosinone—into one of the most vibrant hubs for Italian folk music. Born to celebrate the tarantella and the hypnotic rhythms of Southern traditions, the festival has carved out a distinct identity: bridging the gap between folk roots and contemporary musical languages, from rock to rap, without ever losing its connection to its origins. Today, it is one of the most renowned folk festivals in the Ciociaria region, drawing audiences from across the Lazio region and beyond.
The Tarantelliri formula has evolved with every edition. The fifteenth, held from August 22nd to 25th, 2024, marked a significant step up with three major concerts at the Palacoccia outdoor area: an opening performance by BigMama with free entry, followed by Piero Pelù with his "Deserti Tour" and Massimo Pericolo with his "Le cose cambiano tour." In 2025, the sixteenth edition opted for a single-night format, featuring the overwhelming energy of I Patagarri, the revelation of Italian gypsy jazz, with their "L'Ultima Ruota del Caravan Tour." This journey perfectly captures the festival's spirit: folk music as a starting point, open to all kinds of influences.
The festival's home is the outdoor area of the Palacoccia, Veroli's sports arena located along Via Provinciale Verolana. It is a spacious, easily accessible venue that, on festival nights, transforms into an open-air arena where people dance, sing, and gather. The atmosphere is that of a grand town festival, with families and music fans alike coming together for the headlining acts.
Tarantelliri 2026 is scheduled for Friday, August 21st, with a major coup: Bambole di Pezza, the all-female rock band that starred at the May Day Concert, brings their "Summer Tour 2026" to Veroli. As per tradition, the concert will be held in the Palacoccia outdoor area, and admission will be completely free, in keeping with the festival's popular vocation.
The festival is promoted by the Municipality of Veroli as part of the "Veroli Estate" program, which brings culture, sports, and traditions to the historic center and surrounding districts from June to September. For visitors, Tarantelliri is also the perfect opportunity to discover one of the most beautiful towns in the Ciociaria region, in the Lazio region: the Santa Maria Salome staircase with the Holy Stairs, the remains of the cyclopean walls, and, just a few kilometers away, the famous Casamari Abbey, a masterpiece of Cistercian Gothic architecture.
The 2026 edition of the Tarantelliri Festival confirms the vocation of the Veroli event: bringing the protagonists of the Italian music scene to the Ciociaria region, with free admission as a hallmark. On Friday, August 21, 2026, the stage at the Palacoccia outdoor area will host Bambole di Pezza, a band that is a symbol of rebellion and expressive freedom, and one of the most followed rock groups of the moment.
The concert is part of the group's "Summer Tour 2026" and has been officially announced on the festival's website and in the local press. The evening is part of the "Veroli Estate 2026" program, the series of events promoted by the Municipality of Veroli that brings the historic center and surrounding districts to life from June to September. As in previous editions, the audience can expect a great late-summer party, where the festival's folk tradition meets contemporary sounds.
By car: A1 Rome-Naples motorway, exit at Frosinone, then take the SS214 and Via Provinciale Verolana towards Veroli (approx. 15 km). The Palacoccia has ample parking space nearby.

The 2026 edition featuring Bambole di Pezza offers free admission. In past editions, some nights with major guests required tickets, with online presales: always check the festival's official channels.
