A festival celebrating table grapes and the flavors of the Calatino area between late August and early September
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Table Grape and Local Products Festival is the most anticipated summer event in Licodia Eubea, a town in the Sicilian hinterland in the province of Catania, bordering the Calatino area and the Iblean plateau. For over twenty years, between late August and early September, the town has transformed its historic center into a grand market of flavors and colors to celebrate the fruit that has always defined its economy: table grapes, now enhanced by the local quality label.
The heart of the festival lies in its food stalls and tastings of local products. In addition to bunches of various table grape varieties, you can sample specialties prepared with grape must and grapes, from mostarda to traditional desserts, alongside the rustic flavors of the Calatino region. The stalls are spread across Piazza Garibaldi, Corso Umberto, and Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, bringing the village evenings to life.
The program weaves together gastronomy, music, and entertainment: concerts, street performer shows, brass band performances, and folk parades accompany the festival days. Past editions have featured flag-wavers, vintage car rallies, equestrian shows, and well-known names in Italian music and comedy, with a grand finale dedicated to dancing in the squares.
Alongside the culinary and musical events, the festival also offers sports and nature-focused activities in the Licodia area: sport fishing trophies and ecological days at Lake Dirillo, mountain bike races in the Bosco di Vaito, and local tournaments, all testifying to the festival's deep bond with the Iblean landscape.
Organized by the Municipality of Licodia Eubea with the support of the Regional Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Mediterranean Fisheries, the Grape Festival is free to enter and open to everyone. It is the ideal opportunity to discover an authentic village in inland Sicily, far from the most beaten tourist paths, and to experience a tradition that attracts visitors from across the province of Catania and the neighboring areas of Syracuse and Ragusa.
The dates and program for the 2026 edition of the Table Grape and Local Products Festival have not yet been announced. Based on previous editions, the festival takes place every year in the historic center of Licodia Eubea between late August and early September, featuring tastings of table grapes and local products, food stalls, live music, shows, and sporting events. The detailed calendar will be communicated by the Municipality of Licodia Eubea and the Pro Loco in the weeks preceding the event.
