Three evenings of folk music and comedy in the square, 318 metres above the Gulf of Naples
t'AMMORrE per li Cuonti is the festival that wraps up the summer in Colli di Fontanelle, a hillside hamlet in the municipality of Sant'Agnello, in the province of Naples, in the heart of the Sorrento Peninsula. For three consecutive nights, from 28 to 30 August 2026, Piazza Carlo Sagristani transforms into an open-air stage dedicated to Campanian folk music and comedy, with all shows starting at 9:00 PM and free admission.
The festival's title references the tammorra, the frame drum that has accompanied the tammurriate dances of Campania for centuries, and the cuonti, the tales of oral tradition: two elements that perfectly capture the spirit of the event, defined by rhythm, voices, and local stories.
All events take place in Piazza Carlo Sagristani, Colli di Fontanelle, with free access.
Colli di Fontanelle is located just a few kilometres from the centre of Sant'Agnello, along the road that climbs towards the heights of the peninsula. The main square, named after Carlo Sagristani, sits at 318 metres above sea level and offers one of the most expansive views in the area: on one side, Sant'Agnello, Piano di Sorrento, and Meta with the Gulf of Naples in the background; on the other, the Gulf of Salerno and the Li Galli archipelago with its three islets, Gallo Lungo, La Rotonda, and I Briganti.
The place name recalls the small water springs that once dotted the area and have since dried up. It is a still-vibrant rural setting, where olives, vines, citrus fruits, hazelnuts, and vegetables are cultivated: a landscape that explains why folk music here is not a folkloric citation, but a community custom.
The area has a solid tradition of popular late-summer events: for decades, the historic Colli di Fontanelle Festival took place in the Li Campi locality, remembered as one of the oldest and most renowned agricultural fairs in Campania, featuring artistic displays of local products, tastings, grape crushing, music, and dancing.
The 2025 edition also combined music and cuisine: food stalls run by the district's restaurants and bars prepared pizza, fried snacks, delicacies, and desserts in artisanal ovens built for the occasion, to be enjoyed with local drinks and wine, while Fiorenza Calogero, Damadakà , and Le Ninfe della Tammorra performed on stage.
t'AMMORrE per li Cuonti is part of rEstate Sintonizzati 2026, the summer program promoted by the Municipality of Sant'Agnello which, from 3 July to 5 September, distributes events between the centre, the marina, and the hillside hamlets: beach cinema at Caterina Beach, jazz at Belvedere Marinella, the TeatrOasi theatre festival at Oasi in Città , the beach volleyball marathon, and Notti d'Autore at Rione Maiano. The festival in the hills is one of the final events before the program concludes on 5 September in Piazza Matteotti.
The Municipality of Sant'Agnello brings folk music back to the hills: from 28 to 30 August 2026, for three consecutive nights, Piazza Carlo Sagristani in Colli di Fontanelle hosts the t'AMMORrE per li Cuonti festival, with shows starting at 9:00 PM.
It begins on Friday 28 August with Fimmine, a female folk music trio; on Saturday 29 August, Soul Palco takes the stage for a concert; on Sunday 30 August, the closing is entrusted to the cabaret of Vincenzo Comunale, a Neapolitan comedian among the most followed names in the new Italian stand-up scene and a familiar face thanks to Zelig.
The festival is part of the rEstate Sintonizzati 2026 summer program, which animates the centre, the marina, and the hamlets of Sant'Agnello, in the province of Naples, from 3 July to 5 September. Admission to all evenings is free.

By train via the Circumvesuviana Naples-Sorrento line, get off at Sant'Agnello station, then take a bus or taxi along the road up to the hills. By car from the SS145 Sorrentina, take the Sant'Agnello exit, then follow the hillside road towards Colli di Fontanelle. On show nights, it is advisable to arrive early: parking spaces in the square and along the road are limited.
Shows start at 9:00 PM on the three evenings of 28, 29, and 30 August 2026. Admission is free.
The square is outdoors and at altitude: even in August, it can get chilly in the evening, so it is best to bring a light sweater. The view over the Gulf of Naples and the Gulf of Salerno makes it worth arriving a little early, before sunset.
