An orchestral musical holiday in the heart of Orvieto
Symphonic Holidays is an international musical holiday designed for advanced amateur musicians who wish to experience playing in a symphony orchestra. Organized by DaCapo Travel, the program brings a group of instrumentalists from different countries to Orvieto (Province of Terni) for a week of intensive rehearsals and shared musical growth.
The rehearsals are held in the Expo Hall of the Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo, in the heart of the historic center, and the journey culminates in a final concert at the Teatro Mancinelli, the city's historic 19th-century theatre. The repertoire ranges from great symphonic composers, under the guidance of an orchestra conductor and with the participation of soloists.
The experience is not just musical: participants stay in apartments in the historic center of Orvieto and share meals in local restaurants, immersed in the daily life of the village. It is a formula that combines a passion for music with the pleasure of discovering Umbria from the inside, living for a few days as city residents.
The 2026 edition of Symphonic Holidays is held in Orvieto from October 2nd to 10th: participants arrive and the welcome dinner is scheduled for October 2nd, while the final concert at the Teatro Mancinelli concludes the program on October 10th. Rehearsals take place in the Expo Hall of the Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo. The repertoire includes music by Wagner, Brahms, and Bizet, under the direction of maestro Rolf Verbeek and with solo violinist Johanna Cornelia Müller. Participants are accommodated in apartments in the historic center.
