About Swingin' Roma

Swingin' Roma is an international Lindy Hop and Solo Jazz festival that brings the vibrant swing spirit of the 1930s and 40s to the heart of Rome. Enjoy three days of workshops with world-renowned instructors, competitions, live music, and social dancing within the historic walls of Palazzo Brancaccio, just a stone's throw from the Colosseum. A must-attend event that unites dancers from Italy and abroad in an elegant, vintage, and welcoming atmosphere.

Swing returns to Rome

Swingin' Roma (also known as Swing in Roma — The Festival) is an international event dedicated to Lindy Hop and Solo Jazz, bringing the capital to life with the energy of swing dances born in the United States between the 1920s and 1940s. Organized by the Bal&Swing association, the event gathers dancers, enthusiasts, and curious newcomers for a long weekend of workshops, parties, and live music, establishing itself as one of the most elegant swing gatherings in Central Italy.

Palazzo Brancaccio, a unique setting

The festival takes place inside Palazzo Brancaccio, one of the last great noble palaces built in Rome, overlooking Colle Oppio and just a few minutes' walk from the Colosseum and the Imperial Forums. Its frescoed halls and monumental salons provide a sumptuous backdrop for the dance evenings: dancing the Lindy Hop beneath historic ceilings, surrounded by stucco and mirrors, is an experience that makes every edition truly memorable.

Workshops, competitions, and social dance

The program balances educational sessions with pure fun. During the day, Lindy Hop and Solo Jazz workshops are held for various levels, led by international instructors; at night, the salons transform into dance floors featuring live orchestras and curated DJs. The event also includes competitions, taster classes for beginners, and long social dance sessions that continue late into the night.

An international community

Swingin' Roma attracts dancers from all over Italy and abroad, fostering the spirit of sharing and hospitality typical of the swing scene. The vintage aesthetic—period clothing, retro atmosphere, and the culture of social dancing—is an integral part of the experience, as is the exchange between dancers of all levels.

Rome and the Lazio region

Hosted in the Municipality of Rome, the capital of the Lazio region, the festival adds a contemporary touch to the city's rich cultural landscape: alongside the great events of the classical heritage, Swingin' Roma showcases a 20th-century musical and choreographic tradition that continues to grow and engage new generations of enthusiasts.

Swingin' Roma — edition 2026

The second edition of Swingin' Roma took place from February 20 to 22, 2026, at Palazzo Brancaccio. Three days of Lindy Hop and Solo Jazz with international masters, competitions, live orchestras, and DJs, for a long weekend dedicated to swing in the heart of the capital.

Swingin' Roma 2026 — 2nd edition
