Three nights of jazz, swing, and craft beer in the village of Buscemi
The Swing & Beer Festival is a musical event held in Buscemi, a picturesque village perched in the Iblean Mountains in the province of Syracuse, Sicily. For three nights, the small town transforms into an open-air stage dedicated to swing, rock'n'roll, and craft beer culture, drawing vintage music enthusiasts from across the island.
The event is promoted as part of the iART Buscemi festival, which is part of the Buscemi Borgo Immateriale project funded by the PNRR. The goal is to enhance the intangible heritage and cultural fabric of the municipality through music, social gatherings, and the rediscovery of the village's spaces. The festival's artistic direction is managed by Lucenzo Tambuzzo, while the musical section of Swing & Beer is curated by Sicilian trumpeter and arranger Roy Paci.
The heart of the event is Piazza Roma, where concerts take place every evening, accompanied by opening and closing DJ sets. A unique feature of the festival is the afternoon talks held under the Albero Millicucco, offering public discussions with artists about the contemporary swing scene. To complete the atmosphere, the craft beer that gives the festival its name accompanies the village evenings.
