The sweetest festival in the lower valley
In Champdepraz, a small municipality in the lower Aosta Valley overlooking the Mont Avic Natural Park, the Sweet Festival is a tradition that has been renewed for over twenty years. Every September, the streets of the Viéring hamlet transform into a large open-air laboratory of taste, where hundreds of cakes and numerous hot and cold sweets are distributed: tarts, whipped cream, fried sweets, and preparations of all kinds, spread across about fifteen stalls.
An evening of taste and fun
The festival takes place in the evening, starting around 8:00 PM. In addition to the gourmet area, which is also well-stocked with refreshment points, the event offers:
- Live musical entertainment throughout the evening
- Games and surprises for children and adults
- Characteristic craft stands
- Collaboration in recent years with some of the best pastry chefs in the Aosta Valley
The most anticipated moment is the cutting of the festival's Grand Cake, which takes place around 11:00 PM and gathers all attendees.
Solidarity first
The Sweet Festival is not just a gourmet celebration: part of the proceeds are donated to important local solidarity organizations, such as I Monelli dell'Arte (an integrated theater company involving people with and without disabilities) and La casa di sabbia (a non-profit organization supporting families with severely disabled children). The event is organized by the Pro Giovani Champdepraz association and is held even in case of rain, thanks to a covered pavilion.
Sweet Festival — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Sweet Festival of Champdepraz is planned, as every year, in September in the Viéring hamlet. The event will offer the tried-and-tested formula: hundreds of hot and cold cakes and sweets, musical entertainment, games for all ages, craft stands, and the traditional cutting of the festival's Grand Cake, with a portion of the proceeds always dedicated to charity.

The program and the precise date for the 2026 edition will be communicated by the Pro Giovani Champdepraz association closer to the event. The usual evening schedule includes:
- Around 8:00 PM – Opening of the stands and start of cake and sweet distribution in Viéring
- Throughout the evening – Musical entertainment, games for adults and children, craft stands
- Around 11:00 PM – Cutting of the festival's Grand Cake

How to get there
Champdepraz is located in the lower Aosta Valley, along the A5 motorway (Verrès or Châtillon exit) and the SS26. The Viéring hamlet is a few minutes from the town center.
Opening hours
The festival starts in the evening, around 8:00 PM; the Grand Cake cutting takes place around 11:00 PM.
Admission
Minimum contribution of 10 euros for adults and 5 euros for children; free admission for toddlers. The event takes place even in case of bad weather, under a covered pavilion.
