Sunsets with Author Music is one of the most original summer offerings in the Palermo area: an open-air concert held at high altitude, at approximately 800 meters above sea level, within the Pizzo Cane, Pizzo Trigna and Grotta Mazzamuto Nature Reserve, in the territory of the Municipality of Ventimiglia di Sicilia, in the Metropolitan City of Palermo. The event transforms the mountain into a natural stage, where music accompanies the colors of the sunset in a multisensory experience that connects the audience with nature.

Hiking and music: an experience for body and soul

The event's unique format is what makes it special. The day begins with a guided walk along the mountain trails of the reserve, organized in collaboration with the Italian Alpine Club (CAI), Caccamo section. After the hike, upon reaching the panoramic viewpoint, the audience gathers outdoors to attend the sunset concert, featuring either a solo instrument or small ensembles each year: past editions have showcased piano, guitar, brass ensembles, and other protagonists of contemporary and classical music.

A tradition renewed every summer

Established in the mid-2010s, the event has become a recurring fixture of the summer calendar in Ventimiglia di Sicilia. Documented since at least its fifth edition, it has grown into a reference point for mountain and music lovers. The event is promoted by the Municipality of Ventimiglia di Sicilia, often with the support of the Metropolitan City of Palermo as part of the village's summer program, and is characterized by a strong bond with the local territory and its nature reserve.
