Summer in Poggiodomo

The summer of the smallest municipality in Umbria

Poggiodomo is the least populated municipality in Umbria, a small mountain village in the Valnerina valley, in the province of Perugia. Every summer, particularly in August, the village and its hamlets come alive with "Estate a Poggiodomo" (Summer in Poggiodomo), a scattered calendar of events designed to bring the territory to life and welcome visitors and holidaymakers.

A scattered program across the hamlets

The unique aspect of this event is that it doesn't concentrate in one place but rotates among the main town and the hamlets of Usigni, Mucciafora, and Roccatamburo. The program, which varies annually, blends different forms of entertainment:

• Trekking and excursions on the trails of the Valnerina, often themed (water, woods, local history);
• Food festivals and tastings, such as the Bruschetta Festival in Mucciafora, featuring local products and Umbrian wines;
• Shows: theatrical performances, comedy acts, and concerts in the squares;
• Culture: conferences on the history of Poggiodomo and its hamlets, book presentations, social dinners.

A territory to experience

Promoted by the Municipality in collaboration with the Association for Poggiodomo and local organizations, this festival is an opportunity to discover a less-traveled corner of the Umbrian Apennines, characterized by small villages, hermitages, and mountain landscapes. In recent years, the summer program has also expanded to include outdoor initiatives, such as the "Poggiodomo Outdoor Experience.".
