The charity music festival by AMOPUGLIA in Polignano a Mare
SudInCanto is a charity music festival promoted by the AMOPUGLIA association in the town of Polignano a Mare, in the province of Bari, Puglia. Launched in 2025, the event brings great names of Italian and Mediterranean music to the stage every year for a free-entry evening that combines entertainment, participation, and civic engagement. All proceeds from donations go towards the free home palliative care offered by AMOPUGLIA to cancer patients in the area.
AMOPUGLIA is a volunteer organization that provides free home care to oncology and onco-hematology patients, with doctors, psychologists, and nurses specialized in palliative care. With SudInCanto, the association chooses music as a universal language to raise community awareness and collect funds for medical equipment and care activities. The festival is held under the patronage of the Municipality of Polignano a Mare and in collaboration with local cultural associations, such as Artea.
Overlooking the Adriatic Sea and famous throughout Italy as the birthplace of Domenico Modugno, Polignano a Mare offers SudInCanto a setting of rare beauty. The squares of the historic centre โ from Largo Domenico Modugno to Piazza Aldo Moro โ welcome the public for an open-air evening, free and open to all, where great singer-songwriter music meets the warmth of a community united for an important cause.
SudInCanto confirms itself as one of the most heartfelt events of the Polignano summer: a way to experience live music while transforming it into a concrete gesture of solidarity towards those facing illness.
The second edition of SudInCanto took place on Monday, June 1, 2026, at 8:30 PM in Piazza Aldo Moro in Polignano a Mare. The formula combining music and solidarity was confirmed: a free-entry evening event organized by AMOPUGLIA, with the patronage of the Municipality of Polignano a Mare and the collaboration of the Artea Cultural Association.
Guests of honour were Peppe Servillo and the Solis String Quartet with the show "Carosonamente", an elegant and engaging tribute to the repertoire of Renato Carosone. The evening was presented by the artist Mario Incudine. As per the festival's tradition, the donations collected were destined for the free home palliative care offered by AMOPUGLIA to cancer patients.
Polignano a Mare can be reached by train via the Adriatic line (Polignano a Mare station, a few minutes from the centre) or by car via the SS16, about 35 km south of Bari. The nearest airport is Bari Karol Wojtyลa.
The evening is held outdoors in the squares of the historic centre, with free entry. During the event, it is possible to support AMOPUGLIA with a donation for home palliative care. For information: official AMOPUGLIA website and the Polignano a Mare section.
