The Strawberry Festival — known to everyone as Fragolata — is the late May event in Rossiglione, a municipality in Valle Stura in the Metropolitan City of Genoa, bordering Piedmont. The event celebrates the cultivation of strawberries, the valley's symbolic fruit, with tastings, desserts, jams, and specialties based on this fruit.

Thirty Years of History

Now in its thirtieth edition in 2026, the Fragolata is a festival deeply rooted in the Rossiglione community and is included in the calendar of Authentic Ligurian Events, the regional recognition for the most representative Ligurian traditions.

The festival takes place in the Expo Area of the former ironworks, a testament to the valley's iron and steel past, and offers:

Valle Stura

Rossiglione, with its lower town developed around the parish church of Nostra Signora Assunta and its upper town made of tower houses and low arcades, is a good starting point to discover Valle Stura, an area within the Beigua Regional Natural Park, a land of chestnut groves, trails, and genuine products.
