Strawberry Festival

A festival dedicated to Verona strawberries

In the small municipality of Bonavigo, in the Bassa Veronese (province of Verona), spring is celebrated in only one way: with strawberries. The Strawberry Festival is one of the most cherished local festivals and in 2026 it will reach its 32nd edition, confirming itself as a showcase for local agricultural excellence.

The heart of the event

Everything revolves around Piazza Aquila Lugo and the surrounding streets, which for a few days are filled with stands, stalls, and music. The strawberries grown by Verona producers are the absolute stars: you'll find them on the plates at the food stall – from the famous strawberry risotto to artisanal tarts, to strawberries served with ice cream, sugar, and lemon – but also at the market, where you can buy them fresh directly from the growers.

The organization is managed by the Comitato Festeggiamenti Bonavigo APS, registered with the RUNTS of the Veneto Region, which involves volunteers and producers from the town every year. Entry to the festival is free.

A local product

Bonavigo strawberries are not just any product: the festival exclusively promotes strawberries from local Verona producers, in an agricultural area where this cultivation is part of the peasant identity. Participating also means discovering the agriculture of the Verona plain and its most genuine flavors.
