About Festival of the Tegolina Cornetta
The symbolic bean of Montecchio Maggiore
The Festival of the Tegolina Cornetta De.Co. and Tagliata celebrates in Montecchio Maggiore, in the province of Vicenza, the Tegolina Cornetta, a local variety of borlotti bean that the Municipality has recognized as a De.Co. (Municipal Designation) product. It is harvested between August and October and is one of the most characteristic flavors of the area.

For two evenings (Friday and Saturday), in the Piazzetta del Municipio on Via Roma, the food stand offers the tegolina cornetta paired with beef tagliata, as well as hamburgers with fries and other dishes. The meat is supplied by local butchers, in a pairing that has become the festival's trademark. The stand opens at 7:00 PM.
Aperitif, music, and conviviality
The festival is enhanced by an aperitif with fried polenta on Saturday afternoon and live music on both evenings. A covered structure ensures the event can take place even in case of rain. The initiative is organized by the association Amici della Città di Montecchio together with Antica Macelleria Peretti, with the support of the Municipality of Montecchio Maggiore.

The 2026 edition of the Festival of the Tegolina Cornetta De.Co. is scheduled for September in the Piazzetta del Municipio of Montecchio Maggiore, with the usual format of two evenings dedicated to the local De.Co. bean paired with tagliata. The exact dates will be announced by the organizers closer to the event.
