The sound of your summer on Cattolica's beach
Every summer, the beach of Cattolica, a green pearl of the Riviera di Rimini in the province of Rimini (Emilia-Romagna), transforms into a large open-air stage thanks to Strariva, the travelling music festival that brings music directly to the sand. Born as an initiative of the Beaches of Cattolica, the event aims to experience the sea in a different way: not just a concert, but a widespread experience involving bathing establishments, bars, kiosks, cutters, and even a motorboat.
The hallmark of Strariva is movement. Groups of musicians parade along the shoreline in long musical processions, accompanied by majorettes and dancers, starting from the free beaches and reaching the liveliest areas of the promenade. There are dawn concerts, designed to greet the rising sun over the Adriatic with the sand still cool and a few spectators wrapped in blankets; there are boat breakfasts and musical sunset aperitifs in the bars overlooking the sea. It's a festival that plays with the hours of the day, turning every moment into an occasion for celebration.
The programme alternates live music, DJ sets, travelling parades, and convivial moments, with a popular and family-friendly spirit that makes it suitable for residents, tourists, families, and young people. The philosophy of the event is summarised in the slogan of the 2026 edition, "The sound of your summer": here, music is not just listened to, it is lived, by walking on the shore or toasting with your feet in the sand.
Cattolica, at the southernmost tip of the Romagna coast bordering the Marche region, is one of the most popular seaside resorts on the Adriatic. Strariva is part of the rich summer calendar of the Municipality of Cattolica, alongside events like the Notte Rosa, and contributes to making the beach a place of culture and sociality as well as a holiday destination. The free entry for most events makes the festival accessible to everyone.
For 2026, Strariva confirms its formula of a widespread festival on Cattolica's beach, with evening events at 9:00 PM and the usual main weekend at the beginning of July. The dates confirmed by the city's event calendar range from late June to mid-August, maintaining the travelling spirit that has characterised the event since its early editions.
As in previous editions, a mix of live concerts, musical parades on the shoreline, DJ sets, and convivial sunset moments is expected. The free entry for most events remains one of its distinctive features.
The detailed artistic programme for the 2026 edition, with the list of artists and precise times, will be announced by the organisers in the weeks preceding the events.
As tradition dictates, live concerts, travelling musical parades along the shoreline, and musical breakfasts and aperitifs by the sea are expected. Updates are published on the Municipality of Cattolica's event calendar.
