In the midst of the September City Festival, Muggiò — a Municipality in the Province of Monza and Brianza — dons race numbers for Stramuggiò, the non-competitive running race that winds through the city streets. It's a traditional event that has long combined a passion for sport with the festive and popular dimension of the sagra (village festival).
Two routes for everyone
The event offers two courses — one of 5 kilometres and one of 10 kilometres — designed to welcome both seasoned runners and families and casual walkers. The start is from Piazza Matteotti, the heart of the city, with registrations opening in the morning. There's no ranking to chase: Stramuggiò is a run-walk open to all, where the main focus is the pleasure of moving together through the village streets.
Sport and community
Free and accessible to all, Stramuggiò concludes with a final award ceremony and is part of the rich sporting calendar of the City Festival, alongside awards for local athletes. For Muggiò, on the outskirts of Monza and Milan, it's much more than a race: it's a moment of shared celebration, where sport becomes an opportunity for meeting and belonging to the Brianza community.

In 2026, Stramuggiò is renewed as the sporting event of Muggiò's City Festival. The non-competitive running race offers the usual 5 and 10 kilometre routes through the city streets, starting from Piazza Matteotti with registrations in the morning, open to runners, families, and walkers. The exact date will be confirmed by the Municipality with the City Festival programme.

- 9:00 AM — Registration opens in Piazza Matteotti
- 10:00 AM — Start of the 5 km and 10 km routes through the city streets
- End of race — Award ceremony
