A widespread spring on the Riviera dei Ciclopi
The Spring Festival on the Riviera dei Ciclopi is the new event that the Municipality of Aci Castello, in the heart of the Riviera dei Ciclopi in the province of Catania, dedicates to the awakening of the tourist season. Launched in the spring of 2026, the festival spreads eight events over more than a month, from April 25th to May 31st, alternating between two iconic local settings: Piazza Castello, at the foot of the ancient Norman castle of Aci Castello, and the Lungomare dei Ciclopi with the Piazza Bambini del Mondo in Aci Trezza.
The spirit of the event
The guiding idea of the festival is de-seasonalization: transforming spring weekends and holidays into opportunities for attraction, gathering, and enjoying the urban and coastal landscape, well beyond the start of the summer season. Promoted by the Municipal Department of Tourism and Entertainment, the festival weaves together live music, dance, juggling, street art, artistic performances, and entertainment, with a special focus on families and children.
Between Aci Castello and Aci Trezza
The days move between the two seaside villages: Piazza Castello hosts evenings dedicated to music and shows, while the Lungomare dei Ciclopi in Aci Trezza, overlooking the famous sea stacks sung by Giovanni Verga in The House by the Medlar Tree, hosts events more focused on children's entertainment and street performances. The program alternates juggling and dance, magic, Latin and urban rhythms, opera and violin, and alternative rock, leading up to the grand finale at the end of May.
An event for everyone
Designed for adults and children alike, the Spring Festival offers free admission. The events are spread across the morning and afternoon, with entertainment for the little ones, characters, and moments of music and performance, enhancing public spaces and the identity of the territory in the province of Catania, Sicily.

Spring Festival 2026 - the first edition
The first edition of the Spring Festival on the Riviera dei Ciclopi brought Aci Castello and Aci Trezza to life with eight free events, spread between April 25th and May 31st, 2026. The events took place in two iconic locations: Piazza Castello, in Aci Castello, and the Lungomare dei Ciclopi with the Piazza Bambini del Mondo, in Aci Trezza. Promoted by the Department of Tourism and Entertainment, the festival featured live music, dance, juggling, street art, and entertainment for families, with a themed program for each day.

Where

How to get there
Aci Castello is located along the Ionian coast, a few kilometers north of Catania. By car, it can be reached via the SS114 Catania-Messina road; by train, the reference station is Catania Centrale, connected by AMT buses to Aci Castello and Aci Trezza. The nearest airport is Catania-Fontanarossa.
