About Spring Festival

The Spring Festival of Poggio Renatico is one of the most anticipated food and wine events in the Ferrara lowlands. For two weekends straddling April and May, the Parco 1° Maggio stand offers the great classics of Emilian cuisine — cappellacci, tortelli, lasagna, asparagus risotto, and salama da sugo IGP — accompanied each evening by live music, karaoke, and DJ sets. A genuine village festival, in a covered, heated, and air-conditioned venue, in the heart of Emilia-Romagna.

The Spring Festival in Poggio Renatico

In the Municipality of Poggio Renatico, in the Province of Ferrara, the Spring Festival marks the return of good weather each year with a grand celebration dedicated to food and conviviality. The event takes place at Parco 1° Maggio, on Via San Carlo 79, inside a covered, heated, and air-conditioned venue that allows visitors to enjoy the evenings regardless of the typical spring weather of the Po Valley.

A Journey into Emilian Cuisine

The heart of the festival is traditional Ferrara and Emilian gastronomy. The kitchen prepares the great traditional first courses, from cappellacci to tortelli, from lasagna to asparagus risotto, a symbol of the season. Among the main courses, the salama da sugo IGP stands out, the undisputed queen of the Ferrara table, served with mashed potatoes, but there are also mixed grills, pork knuckle, rabbit stew with polenta, and fresh fish dishes. To finish, desserts from the trolley and sorbets.

Music and Entertainment Every Evening

In addition to good food, the Spring Festival offers musical entertainment every evening: from live music to DJ sets, from karaoke to dancing evenings with an orchestra. The highlight is traditionally the big concert on May 1st, which attracts numerous visitors from Poggio Renatico and the surrounding towns of the Ferrara lowlands.

A Community Celebration

Organized by the Circolo del Parco 1° Maggio, the festival is an event deeply rooted in the local community, where the pleasure of good food combines with the desire to be together. It is the ideal opportunity to discover the authentic flavors of Emilia-Romagna and experience the genuine atmosphere of a village festival.
