Typical Ferrara cuisine and live music at Parco 1° Maggio
In the Municipality of Poggio Renatico, in the Province of Ferrara, the Spring Festival marks the return of good weather each year with a grand celebration dedicated to food and conviviality. The event takes place at Parco 1° Maggio, on Via San Carlo 79, inside a covered, heated, and air-conditioned venue that allows visitors to enjoy the evenings regardless of the typical spring weather of the Po Valley.
The heart of the festival is traditional Ferrara and Emilian gastronomy. The kitchen prepares the great traditional first courses, from cappellacci to tortelli, from lasagna to asparagus risotto, a symbol of the season. Among the main courses, the salama da sugo IGP stands out, the undisputed queen of the Ferrara table, served with mashed potatoes, but there are also mixed grills, pork knuckle, rabbit stew with polenta, and fresh fish dishes. To finish, desserts from the trolley and sorbets.
In addition to good food, the Spring Festival offers musical entertainment every evening: from live music to DJ sets, from karaoke to dancing evenings with an orchestra. The highlight is traditionally the big concert on May 1st, which attracts numerous visitors from Poggio Renatico and the surrounding towns of the Ferrara lowlands.
Organized by the Circolo del Parco 1° Maggio, the festival is an event deeply rooted in the local community, where the pleasure of good food combines with the desire to be together. It is the ideal opportunity to discover the authentic flavors of Emilia-Romagna and experience the genuine atmosphere of a village festival.
The 2026 Spring Festival of Poggio Renatico enlivened two weekends between April and May in the covered and air-conditioned venue of Parco 1° Maggio. On the menu were the signature dishes of Ferrara tradition, from cappellacci to salama da sugo IGP, accompanied each evening by live music, karaoke, and DJ sets. The detailed artistic program for each evening was announced by the organization in the weeks preceding the event.
Poggio Renatico can be reached by car from the A13 Bologna-Padua motorway (exit towards Ferrara) and by train with the local station connected to Bologna and Ferrara. Bologna Airport is about 50 km away. The venue is Parco 1° Maggio, in Via San Carlo 79.
The stand opens at 7:00 PM on weekdays; at 12:00 PM and 7:00 PM on Sundays and holidays.
The event is open to all; table reservations are recommended (tel. +39 351 8688152).
