When the Tortona hills turn green and the Timorasso vineyards begin to breathe again, the small village of Carezzano—a community of just over four hundred inhabitants perched between the Scrivia and Ossona valleys in the province of Alessandria—comes alive for the Spring Festival. The local Pro Loco organizes this genuine event, designed to bring people together in the town square after winter to enjoy a Sunday of sunshine, games, and good food.

A day for all ages

The festival has the slow, welcoming rhythm of hill-country towns: no giant stages or anonymous crowds, but a space where children and adults can truly participate. The heart of the day is at the Società Comunale di Carezzano, on Via Vittorio Veneto, where creative activities and nature-inspired workshops curated by Talea APS, Anna Ronchi, and Cascina Ferretti take place. For the little ones, there is the classic carriage ride to discover the village, while the afternoon snack with its inevitable surprises is sure to please everyone.

The Spring Festival is not just entertainment: it is also an opportunity to savor the products of the Tortona hills. The Waiting for Quatar Pass area, in collaboration with Slow Food Tortona APS, offers a preview of local food and wine excellence in anticipation of the major traveling event that celebrates Timorasso and the traditional dishes of the Derthona area every year. The day concludes in a convivial atmosphere with an agnolotti-based aperitif and live music as the sun sets over the village.
