The Sports Festival + Veglie in Mood is an annual June event that brings together two souls of the Veglie community, a town in the Province of Lecce in the heart of Salento. This dual event is designed for all ages: in the afternoon, sports exhibitions involve local associations and athletes, while in the evening, the town center turns into a massive party featuring music, street food, and entertainment. The Sports Festival: 300 athletes take the stage

The afternoon is dedicated to the Sports Festival: the Market Area and Via Madonna dei Greci become a large open space for the public, where about 300 athletes perform demonstrations. The disciplines represented are numerous, ranging from combat sports to movement arts:

• taekwondo, muay thai, and martial arts
• dance and rhythmic gymnastics
• archery
• mountain biking and running
• sailing, soccer, and other local disciplines

It is a way to showcase the many sports organizations in Veglie and introduce children and teenagers to the world of sports through open trials and demonstrations.

Veglie in Mood: music, street food, and entertainment

As evening falls, the event shifts gears and lights up with Veglie in Mood – Music, Food & Drinks, a format combining entertainment, music, and conviviality. The town center and the Market Area fill with street food stalls, draft beer, drinks, and plenty of fun. The stage hosts live music, DJ sets, and major musical shows covering the history of Italian and international music, complete with elaborate sets, LED walls, and giant screens. It is a night designed to keep the crowd dancing and singing until the early hours.

An event by the Pro Loco and the Municipality of Veglie

The event is organized by Pro Loco Veglie in collaboration with numerous local businesses and is held under the patronage of the Municipality of Veglie. Admission is free: you only pay for what you consume at the food stalls. It is an event deeply rooted in the community, attracting families, young people, and visitors from neighboring towns in the Province of Lecce.
