The Sport 25th April Walk is one of the most established events in the running calendar of the Bassa Reggiana. Organized by the Gruppo Podisti Fabbrico, in 2026 it will reach its 45th edition: almost half a century of races and walks that, every April 25th, draw hundreds of runners, families, and enthusiasts from across the province and beyond to the small municipality of Fabbrico (Province of Reggio Emilia, Emilia-Romagna).

More than just a race, it is a popular festival that combines sport with the civic meaning of the day: April 25th, the anniversary of the Liberation, becomes an occasion in Fabbrico to gather outdoors, rediscover the streets of the town and its surrounding countryside, and honour the community spirit that has animated this event for decades.

Distances: for competitors and everyone

The format is the classic one for running events in Emilia, designed to accommodate all levels:

• Competitive race over 10 km, starting at 9:00 AM, reserved for registered athletes;
• Non-competitive walk over 10 km, starting at 9:15 AM, open to all enthusiasts;
• Short fun run of approximately 4.3 km, ideal for families, children, and casual walkers.

The start is from Via Roma, in the centre of Fabbrico, and the routes wind through the town and the surrounding plains, on flat terrain that makes the run accessible even to the less trained.
