Cod takes center stage in Sovere

The Sovere Cod Festival is one of the gastronomic events at the end of summer in Sovere, a municipality in the Upper Sebino area of Bergamo Province. Organized by the Pro Loco, it takes place at Parco Senatore Silvestri and offers a menu entirely built around one of the great classics of Northern Italian popular cuisine.

Table specialties

The signature dish is Vicentina-style cod with polenta, accompanied by stewed cod with tomato and olives and cod salad. For those who want to try everything, the festival offers a tasting trio of the three specialties. The menu is completed with other dishes such as seafood pasta, casoncelli, fried calamari, and tagliata.

Music and conviviality

Alongside the gastronomy, the evenings are enlivened by music and dancing: from ballroom dancing with an accordion to concerts by local bands, the atmosphere is typical of village festivals. The event is a gathering occasion for the Sovere community and for visitors from the Bergamo side of Lake Iseo.

Between valley, hill, and lake

Sovere is one of the gateways to the Upper Sebino, spread between valley and hill. The Cod Festival is part of the calendar of food and wine events that the Pro Loco organizes at Parco Silvestri throughout the year, alongside other themed festivals.
