The Sommerfest of the Rasun di Sotto Fire Brigade

The Sommerfest der Freiwilligen Feuerwehr Niederrasen is the annual summer festival organized by the Volunteer Fire Brigade of Rasun di Sotto (Freiwillige Feuerwehr Niederrasen), in the municipality of Rasun-Anterselva/Rasen-Antholz, in the province of Bolzano. The event takes place in mid-July at the local Festplatz, within the Niederrasen recreational park (Erholungspark), and is one of the most cherished events for the local Puster Valley community.

A village festival of music and tradition

Like many festivals organized by South Tyrolean volunteer fire brigades, the Sommerfest is much more than just an evening of entertainment: it is a gathering point for the entire community, an opportunity to support the volunteers' work and experience South Tyrolean tradition together. The event combines live music, great food, and the warmth typical of mountain village festivals.

Live music and brass band parade

The musical program is the heart of the festival. The stage hosts South Tyrolean folk groups and entertainment bands, while the Musikkapelle Niederrasen (Rasun di Sotto brass band) opens the celebrations with its traditional parade and a concert on the festival grounds. Evenings continue with dancing and live music until late.

South Tyrolean gastronomy

The culinary side is not to be missed, with stands offering typical South Tyrolean specialties: grilled meat dishes, Würstel, homemade desserts, beer, and drinks.
