Snow Festival

The 2025 Snow Festival renewed the tradition linked to the trade of the nivaroli in Polizzi Generosa (PA), within the Madonie Park. Organized by the Italian Alpine Club section of Polizzi Generosa, the day featured a hike to the Fossa della Principessa (1,906 m), the largest of the area's natural snow pits, through valleys, beech forests, and rocky peaks with expansive views over the massif.

Once at the summit, participants took part in the preparation of granita using snow gathered on-site, following the original recipe, in a convivial moment that combined hiking, historical memory, and flavor. The festival confirmed its consolidated formula of promoting the natural heritage and rural traditions of the Madonie.
