About Ski Show

The Ski Show is the spectacular evening event on the snow in Sauze d'Oulx, nestled in the heart of the Via Lattea ski area in the Upper Susa Valley. At the Campetto Clotes, ski instructors, champions, and athletes put on a show featuring vintage-style descents, telemark, ski ballet, acrobatic jumps, and snowboard tricks, culminating in a final torchlight procession with LED torches and tricolor flares. A free show under the stars that perfectly caps off a day on the slopes and celebrates Piedmont's great skiing tradition.

The snow spectacle in Sauze d'Oulx

The Ski Show is one of the most evocative winter evenings in Sauze d'Oulx, in the Province of Turin, right in the heart of the Via Lattea ski area. The setting is the finish area of the Campetto Clotes slopes, in the center of the Upper Susa Valley tourist resort: as night falls, the snow lights up to become the stage for a show that blends sport, tradition, and entertainment.

A tribute to skiing history

The stars of the show are the instructors, coaches, champions, and athletes of Sauze d'Oulx, who trace the evolution of skiing through a series of themed descents. It begins with couples in vintage attire recalling the pioneers of early skiing, moves through telemark, ballet, and contemporary choreography, and builds up to acrobatic jumps, snowboard tricks, and ski mountaineering demonstrations. It is a journey through the sporting memory of one of the iconic destinations of Piedmontese winter tourism.

The final torchlight procession

The most emotional moment comes at the end: the LED torches carried by children and the tricolor flares held by instructors from all the local ski schools create a luminous trail on the snow. Leading the children's parade is the first National Instructor Giuliano Vitton, in a finale that has now become a tradition of the evening.

Anniversaries to celebrate

The 2026 edition had a special flavor, as it celebrated three local milestones: 120 years of Sauze d'Oulx as a tourist resort, the 50th anniversary of Piero Gros's gold medal in the slalom at the Innsbruck Olympics, and the 20th anniversary of the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics. It was a way to remember how deeply the history of this town is intertwined with that of Italian skiing.

A local event

The Ski Show is organized by the Fortur Tourist Consortium together with the Municipality of Sauze d'Oulx, the Mountain Union of Olympic Via Lattea Municipalities, the Tourist Office, Sestrieres Spa, and local ski schools and clubs. The evening is free to attend and attracts a large crowd, including residents, skiers, and tourists vacationing on the snows of the Upper Susa Valley.
