SIRA Festival

San Siro for Women

The SIRA Festival was founded in 2022 by the association Il Telaio delle Arti APS to enhance and strengthen the role of women in the San Siro district of Milan (Municipality 7, Province of Milan, Lombardy), an area where female figures are often marginalized. It is a festival deeply rooted in the territory, giving voice and space to the talents and stories of women in the San Siro quadrilateral.

The 2026 Edition: Female Togetherness

The fifth edition, scheduled for May 23 and 24, 2026, has the theme "Voices in Chorus: The Strength of Female Togetherness". The idea of "choral singing" is understood as a collective practice of listening and relating: a chorus where every voice counts, a metaphor for a community built together, starting with women.

Words and Notes of Peace

The festival is divided into two parts. On May 23, from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM, the round table "Words of Peace" is held at the Off Campus San Siro of the Politecnico di Milano, in Via Gigante. On May 24, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the musical event "Notes of Peace" enlivens the courtyard of Piazzale Selinunte 4, with choirs and dances that span different cultures.

A Mosaic of Cultures

The musical program of "Notes of Peace" reflects the multicultural nature of San Siro: from the Musa Multietnic Choir to the San Siro Women's Choir, from the Moroccan kaftan fashion show by Caftankenzamilano to the Bolivian dances of Sambos Caporales de Corazon, and the Romanian dances of Grupul Vatra. An intertwining of voices and traditions that makes the SIRA Festival an experience of encounter and peace.
