SipariOstellato is the theatre season of the Mauro Barattoni Municipal Theatre in Ostellato, a municipality in the Province of Ferrara nestled in the lagoon landscape of the Valli and Po Delta, in Emilia-Romagna. Founded in 2017 from a project conceived and directed by Massimiliano Venturi, the review has transformed a small village theatre into one of the most dynamic and attractive venues in the entire Ferrara area, capable of staging some of the most beloved protagonists of the national scene.
Authorial drama and comedy
SipariOstellato's hallmark is the balance between authorial theatre and intelligent comedy. Each evening season offers a handful of shows with leading performers, often accompanied by national premieres and provincial exclusives: a curated programme that, despite the small size of the venue, has managed to build a loyal and numerous audience, with seasons attracting over a thousand spectators in total.
The Barattoni Theatre and the I Teatri del Delta network
The Barattoni Theatre is located in via Garibaldi, in the centre of Ostellato, and is the hub of SipariOstellato. The review is part of the I Teatri del Delta circuit, which coordinates programming with the theatres of Comacchio and Copparo, offering subscribers shared rates and shows throughout the territory.
Junior! Afternoon Theatre
Alongside the evening events, SipariOstellato offers Junior! Afternoon Theatre, a Sunday afternoon programme with puppets, fairy tales, clowns, and theatre for young audiences. Designed for children and families, it entertains spectators of all ages and is now an integral part of the season's identity.
An experience to be had in the Delta
Attending a show in Ostellato also means discovering a fascinating corner of the Ferrara plain, amidst the valleys, the traditional fishing huts (casoni), and the naturalistic itineraries of the Po Delta Park. The ninth edition of SipariOstellato confirmed the Mauro Barattoni Municipal Theatre in Ostellato as one of the focal points of the Ferrara theatre scene, with the usual artistic direction by Massimiliano Venturi. The 2026 evening programme featured three performances with major Italian theatre actors, blending authorial drama and comedy, complemented by the Sunday Junior! Afternoon Theatre review for children and families.

How to get there
By car: Ostellato is reachable from the SS16 Adriatica and the Ferrara-Mare (SS309dir), about 30 km from Ferrara. By train: Ostellato station on the Ferrara-Codigoro line, then a short journey to the centre.
Tickets and subscriptions
Full price ticket €20, children up to 18 years €12, special I Teatri del Delta single ticket €18. Subscription for the 3 evening shows: full price €48, reduced (over 65 and Coop Alleanza 3.0 members) €45, children up to 18 years €30. Online presale on Vivaticket.
Box office
