The dancing fountains of Pallanza

The Sinfonia d'Acqua e Luce is a dancing fountain show that brings the Pallanza lakefront to life every summer in the heart of Verbania (Province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, Piedmont). Overlooking the Borromean Gulf of Lake Maggiore, the show blends art, technology, and beauty: jets that spin, intertwine, and dart, shifting colorful lights, dancing fire, water peacocks, and giant spirals that paint shapes and colors onto the lake's surface.

A tradition reborn

The installation stems from a desire to revive a fountain that graced Pallanza many years ago, whose water displays remain part of the collective memory of the local people. Its modern reimagining, inaugurated in the summer of 2025 under the name Color Water Show, quickly became one of the most beloved attractions on the lakefront and a symbol of summer on Lake Maggiore.

How it works

During the day, the fountains operate in soft mode, with water displays visible from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. However, the real magic happens at dusk: from 9:00 PM to 11:30 PM, a ten-minute choreographed performance takes place every half hour, with multiple shows separated by short breaks that allow the audience to fully enjoy every moment. Water, light, fire, and music merge into a visual symphony that must be experienced to be believed.

Part of Verbania Another Season

Sinfonia d'Acqua e Luce is part of the extensive summer program of the Municipality of Verbania, Verbania Another Season, which enlivens the city from June to November with concerts, theater, dance, and major popular events such as the Notte Bianca and the Palio Remiero. This packed calendar makes the lakefront and its districts—Pallanza, Intra, and Suna—the beating heart of summer on Lake Verbano.
