The feast of the patron saint in the Val di Fodom

The Siègra di San Iaco — the Ladin name for the Sagra di San Giacomo — is the patronal feast of Pieve di Livinallongo, the main village of the municipality of Livinallongo del Col di Lana, in the province of Belluno. Dedicated to Saint James the Greater, it is celebrated around July 25th and is one of the most cherished events of the summer in the Ladin valley of Fodom.

Three days of music, history, and flavors

The event, organized by the Coro Fodom, enlivens Piazza Nuova in Pieve for three days with a program that combines music, historical insights, and local traditional gastronomy. Concerts by choirs and bands, guest groups, and convivial evenings alternate under the banner of Ladin identity, while stands offer typical mountain cuisine dishes.

A guardian of Ladin identity

Beyond its religious and festive aspects, the Siègra di San Iaco is a precious opportunity to preserve and transmit the Ladin language of Fodom, spoken in these Dolomite territories. The Coro Fodom, a long-standing guardian of local singing and culture, makes this feast a moment of strong cohesion for the entire community of Livinallongo del Col di Lana.
