The Sicilian Truffle Market Exhibition is a food and wine event celebrating the truffles of the Iblei Mountains in the village of Chiaramonte Gulfi, in the province of Ragusa. Launched in 2024 as the first fair in Sicily entirely dedicated to this product, the event has transformed the scenic Piazza Duomo into a showcase for the so-called "black gold" of the Iblei, which is still less known than the truffles of Central and Northern Italy but of increasing value.
A land with a vocation
In recent years, the Iblean region has proven to be a land of spontaneous truffle grounds, with species such as Tuber aestivum (summer truffle), Tuber borchii, and Tuber brumale. The fair was born from the need to raise awareness of this resource and to support the birth of a true truffle-growing industry in the Ragusa area, involving producers, restaurateurs, and enthusiasts.
What to find at the fair
During the days of the market exhibition, stalls from numerous farms and artisans of the Iblei Mountains offer typical local products: in addition to truffles, visitors can find extra virgin olive oil, wines, cheeses, and local specialties to taste and purchase directly from the producers.

Nicknamed the "Balcony of Sicily" for its views that stretch to the sea and Mount Etna, the Municipality of Chiaramonte Gulfi belongs to the circuit of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy. The event, organized by the Municipality together with the Pro Loco and local entities, combines food and wine promotion with the discovery of the historical and landscape heritage of this corner of the Sicily Region.
Sicilian Truffle Chiaramonte Gulfi — edition 2026
For the 2026 edition of the Sicilian Truffle Market Exhibition, final dates and program have not yet been announced. Based on previous editions, the event is expected to return to animate Piazza Duomo in Chiaramonte Gulfi during the summer, featuring stalls with typical products, tastings, show cooking, conferences, and musical moments dedicated to the truffles of the Iblei Mountains. Official updates will be published by the organizers on the Municipality and Pro Loco channels.

How to get there
By car: from Ragusa or Catania via the SS514 and provincial roads towards Chiaramonte Gulfi. By train: reference stations are Ragusa or Comiso, with onward travel by bus or car. Nearest airport: Comiso (CIY).
