The summer festival in Seano, featuring food stalls, music, and tradition
When summer arrives in Seano—a village in the municipality of Carmignano, in the green province of Prato, Tuscany—the Pista Rossa lights up with color, aromas, and music. This is where the Sere d'Estate come to life, a local festival organized by the Associazione Festa Santissimo Crocifisso di Seano under the patronage of the Municipality of Carmignano. A young but already beloved event, born in 2024 and growing every year, it succeeds in bringing entire families together under the stars.
The format follows the genuine, tried-and-tested tradition of Tuscan festivals: every evening, starting at 7:00 PM, the food stalls managed by the association's volunteers open, offering homemade dishes at popular prices. The atmosphere is lively, thanks to inflatables and a quad track for children, craft stalls—including the "Io Creo" creative space with handmade goods—and an evening entertainment program ranging from live music to dance.
Previous editions have featured musical groups, roaming street bands, pop-dance DJ sets, performances by local dance schools, and even fashion shows by local merchants: every evening offers something different, always with free admission.
The Sere d'Estate are not just about entertainment. The event has a dual goal: to enliven the social life of the village through initiatives designed for all ages, and to raise funds for the Festa Grossa, the solemn celebration of the Santissimo Crocifisso, which occurs in Seano every five years and represents the heart of the town's religious and popular tradition.
Seano is one of the most populous villages in Carmignano, a land of hills, olive groves, and vineyards where the famous Carmignano DOCG wine is produced. Attending the Sere d'Estate is also a chance to discover an authentic corner of Tuscany, far from the main tourist circuits, where the community gathers with simplicity and warmth. It is the perfect occasion for those seeking the true atmosphere of a local festival, made of good food, music, and social connection.
The 2026 edition of the Sere d'Estate is scheduled from June 18 to 20 at the Pista Rossa in Seano, as confirmed by the Pro Loco Carmignano events calendar. This is the third edition of the event organized by the Associazione Festa Santissimo Crocifisso.
This year, the usual formula returns: food stalls from 7:00 PM, inflatables and a quad track for children, craft stalls, and evening entertainment with music and dance. Admission is free.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition, including musical and performance schedules for each evening, will be announced by the Associazione Festa Santissimo Crocifisso in the weeks leading up to the event.
Based on previous editions, the structure includes:
