An evening of free open-air cinema at Cascina Cuccagna, with the Milano Film Fest
Scintille is the Milano Film Fest's program of free open-air screenings, spread across all nine Municipalities of the city. The stop at Vicolo Cuccagna brings the big screen to Cascina Cuccagna, one of Milan's historic farmhouses restored and returned to public life, in the Calvairate-Romana neighborhood of Municipality 4.
The evening features the screening of Settembre, the debut film by Giulia Steigerwalt, a choral work that intertwines the stories of various characters seeking change. The event starts at 9:30 PM, with an introduction to the film and completely free admission, in the democratic spirit of Scintille.
Cascina Cuccagna is a unique cultural and social space in Milan: an 18th-century rural complex in the heart of the city, now a meeting point for agriculture, sustainability, and culture. Its alleyway and courtyards offer an intimate and evocative setting, perfect for an open-air cinema evening that brings the neighborhood community together.
Scintille is the widespread face of the Milano Film Fest, the city's film festival that in the first days of June offers feature film and short film competitions, out-of-competition screenings, and neighborhood events. The open-air program is supported by Fondazione Cariplo and the Culture Department of the Municipality of Milan.
The evening of June 8, 2026, at Vicolo Cuccagna is one of the eighteen free screenings in the Scintille program, spread across all nine Municipalities of Milan during the Milano Film Fest (June 3-8, 2026). Supported by Fondazione Cariplo, the program brings cinema to the public spaces of the neighborhoods.
The film chosen for this stop is Settembre, the debut feature by Giulia Steigerwalt, a delicate choral story about the desires for change of its characters. The screening is preceded by an introduction, and access is completely free.
The evening is part of the Scintille program, eighteen open-air screenings distributed across Milan's nine Municipalities as part of the Milano Film Fest 2026.
