The Scialacori White Night is the event that, for over ten years, has marked the end of the summer season in Floridia, a lively town in the province of Syracuse, Sicily. The name draws from the Sicilian dialect term «scialari», meaning to enjoy life and have unbridled fun: this is precisely the spirit of an evening where the historic center stays vibrant until the early hours. From sunset to dawn, the town's squares and streets become one large open-air stage where music, art, sports, and gastronomy converge.
The strength of Scialacori lies in its variety: the program is designed to cater to every interest and age group. On multiple stages set up throughout the center, local bands and artists perform, with musical genres ranging from light pop to folk. Alongside the concerts, you will find:
Promoted by the Municipality of Floridia with the involvement of the Pro Loco and local associations, the Scialacori White Night is much more than just an entertainment event: it is a moment of identity where the Floridia community gathers in its own streets. Evening shopping at local businesses, local crafts, and a convivial atmosphere complete the evening, as the whole town stays awake to celebrate.
Located just a few kilometers from Syracuse, Floridia is a gateway to the Iblean hinterland and the wonders of southeastern Sicily, from the Baroque architecture of Noto to the beauties of the provincial capital. The White Night is the ideal opportunity to discover the authentic hospitality of a Sicilian town and experience the energy of a contemporary popular festival.
The dates and program for the 2026 edition of the Scialacori White Night have not yet been announced at the time of publication. The event, which traditionally closes the Floridia summer in early September, is expected to feature its proven formula once again: concerts, roving performances, art installations, children's areas, and food stalls in the historic center of Floridia. We recommend checking the official channels of the Municipality of Floridia for the final date and program.
Floridia is located about 10 km from Syracuse, along the SS124 road. By car, it is accessible via the A18/RA15 motorway; the nearest well-connected train station is in Syracuse, which links to Catania and the rest of Sicily. The reference airport is Catania-Fontanarossa, about an hour's drive away.
The event takes place in the historic center and is free to attend. Food and wine stalls and some activities may charge a fee.
The event continues until late at night: we recommend wearing comfortable clothing and planning your parking in advance, given the high turnout in the historic center.
